Same Sex Attraction

I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.  I want to be completely upfront about that fact.  I also am passionate about child advocacy.  But the only thing on my mind right now is those who have same sex attraction.  So if you are still reading, let me tell you why...

I am a single mother to 4 children.  While it has been the most exhausting task I have taken on to date, it has also been the best.  Right now I can hear my children's laughter.  They are playing tetherball in the backyard with their neighbor friend.  I am able to keep a watchful eye on them, finish my college degree online, pause to make them snacks, tie their shoes, remind them to use good manners, edit a recent photo session for work, and ponder on how I can better contribute to the world.  I believe that we must defend traditional marriage for the sake of unconditional love.  And we must also defend those with same sex attraction for the sake of unconditional love.  But we must not define marriage as anything but a union between a man and a woman, and that is for the sake of children.

Love is the essence of existence.  It should be extended in all that we do.  We will never become one in purpose, in kindness, in peace, or in love without reaching out in friendship and pure love to those who have same sex attraction.  If we want our voices to go down in history and drowned out those historians who wish to write their own agenda, we must come together in love.  Our children must see this.  We must show them by our examples.  Within my own circle of influence, I can defend traditional marriage by my example.  To me, that means worrying more about my own weaknesses,  and striving everyday to think less of myself and more of others.  I can call my ex-husband (who happens to have same sex attraction) and ask him how he is doing today.
